The Management Information Systems (MIS) Support Package Sept 2007 - Aug 2008The purpose of this service level agreement (SLA) is to clearly identify the services included in the annual charge for Schools and outlines the terms and conditions under which the MIS Team will provide these services to their customers. The MIS Team is part of the Planning, Performance and Partnership Service of the Children and Young People’s Directorate of Sheffield City Council. This Service aims to ensure that all the service areas are delivered in respect of this Service Level Agreement. Our customers in relation to this agreement are Sheffield Nursery, Primary and Secondary Schools and Pupil Referral Units who buy into the SIMS service on an annual basis through their annual budget interviews. Our team has considerable experience in the Sims.net software. They are highly trained on the various modules of Sims.net and regularly attend software seminar updates and Sims conferences in order to keep up-to-date with all new developments by Capita. The Team also attends the Sims Northern User Groups on a three monthly basis which enables us to make relationships and compare our services with other neighbouring authorities and to raise issues with Capita on behalf of our schools. The information from schools management information systems is transferred into the central One system and is used by many different sections within the Children and Young People’s Service. Our aim is to provide schools with training, support and advice they need in order to make the best possible use of the SIMS software to manage their administrative and teaching roles.
