Welcome to Independent schools

The Learning Support Service has worked with a number of local independent schools and is pleased to continue to offer services to local independent schools.

Our staff are skilled in and knowledgeable about a wide range of aspects of special educational needs. Work has previously included:

Assessment of pupils’ learning difficulties, leading to reports and advice to staff and parents.
Identification of Specific Learning Difficulties (Dyslexia).
Assessments of pupils to support requests for special arrangements for SATS, GCSEs or A levels.
Multisensory teaching approaches.
Training for staff on effective approaches to teaching pupils with special needs.
National frameworks, guidelines and resources to support teaching and learning.
The use of ICT to support learning.
The effective use of support staff.
Support for SENCOs in developing good practice.

Any of the services listed under the Subscription Package for Primary Schools or LSS Work in Secondary Schools are available to Independent Schools In Sheffield.
