Prices 2008-2009

The price for Sheffield Primary School subscription package is calculated individually for each school according to the AEN formula. Schools with a high level of need according to the formula are offered a higher level of support. The price for a financial year, is sent to each school, in a leaf mailing during the preceding autumn term.

For secondary schools we offer a standard subscription package which provides eighteen half-days of in-school support and includes preparation and follow up time. The cost of this package for the financial year 2008-2009 is £4086. Other levels of subscription can be arranged if requested.

The prices for services provided outside of annual subscriptions are calculated on the following basis:

Usual charges to schools for non-subscription work

Charges for one teacher:

Our charges are based on an hourly rate for a specialist teacher of £57 per hour.

One half day (3 hours) in school and including reasonable preparation or follow up is £228 (ie 4 hours).

One full day including preparation or follow up is £456.

Staff meeting 1-1 ½ hours is £114.

Training involving 2 teachers

If a training event requires 2 teachers to deliver, we will charge one third of the above charges for the 2nd person, e.g. 1 day training delivered by 2 people will cost £608.

Additional charges

The prices quoted above are fully inclusive for most of our work. However, we reserve the right to make an additional charge where we incur exceptional additional costs in carrying out the work. For example if a large quantity of materials is being provided or if a training session is planned for more than 25 staff.

Charges when follow up or preparation is negligible or unpredictable

For some work we will quote an hourly rate or charge. For example, for some exam access arrangement work most time is spent in school carrying out tests and marking them and the follow up work needed is generally less than that allowed for above.

Basic charge for 1 teacher is £57 per hour.

Work calculated on this figure is charged according to the time taken. Any preparation or follow-up time (including report writing) will be charged at the same rate.
