We are a flexible and responsive service. Schools can be confident that they are dealing with knowledgeable, experienced and highly competent practitioners who fully understand schools’ needs.

Human Resources also offers a teacher and school support staff supply agency SESSA, established in September 2001. This service aims to ensure the provision of appropriate, trained and motivated supply teachers, classroom support and school administration staff.

Our Successes

In 2002 we achieved an OFSTED grade 2 for both our services to Sheffield schools and our Recruitment and Retention Strategy. In 2004 we were awarded Beacon Council status for our work on school workforce reforms as well as the DFES Quality Mark for our supply agency SESSA and renewal of our Investor In People status.

We continue to provide services to 98% of Sheffield schools. In addition to this, in 2006/2007 we are providing a service to twenty nine schools in Barnsley MBC including nine secondaries, four voluntary aided schools and the only special school. We have received a 5* rating via the BMBC Brokerage from these schools. We have also secured a contract to provide an 'e' service to a secondary school in Wakefield and a secondary school in Leeds for 2006/07.

Service specifications may vary depending on specific circumstances and agreements that exist with other Authorities. In particular some Authorities may retain the option to issue contracts of employment and carry out pre-employment checks. However, Human Resources is currently able to offer these services to other Authorities' voluntary aided schools at an additional cost.
