CYPD External Funding Team

The role of the External Funding Team is to ensure the correct financial management of externally funded projects within CYPD. We also provide advice and support to schools on external funding. We help schools with such LA administered grants as the School Standards and Standards Funds Grants. We are in the process of extending our services to help schools obtain extra funding for additional projects within schools.

It must be stressed that funding projects in this way is not without risk and that the school is the accountable body for such schemes so we have also put together some guidelines to schools to help them manage external funding, you will find them on one of the links below. External Funding Newsletter

The External Funding Newsletter, produced by the External Funding Team, contains helpful advice, contact points, success stories and the latest funding streams. Read the success stories below and be inspired. It can be done!

Grant Finder

Grant finder is a database that contains details of over 4,500 funding options and is constantly updated to include the latest funding opportunities. The External Funding Team has access to the database and can conduct searches on behalf of schools. The details of potential grants are then emailed to you to enable you to decide on an appropriate grant. If you have a particular project in mind and would like the team to complete a search for you please complete the attached Search Request Form.

Additionality - brief details of how this project will benefit the school or community

Schools Guide to External Funding

The Schools Guide to External Funding covers several topics including how to apply for funding, how to manage your externally funded project, putting your claim together, preparing for the audit, and the exit strategy. It is important that you read through this guide before you consider applying for and accepting any external funding into your school. There are many things to consider before beginning your project and this guide will take you through the process step by step.

Standards Fund Manual

The Standards Fund Manual is produced in consultation with Standards Fund Grant managers to produce an explanation of the current programme. Here is a link to the 2007/08 Standards Fund Manual. The updated 2008/09 programme manual will be published in May 08.
